Do you have Cigna dental insurance? Whether it is through your employer or you purchased your own policy, we wholeheartedly hope you get the most out of your coverage. The purpose of dental insurance is to encourage families to get the preventive care they need to maintain healthy smiles, and it reduces your out of pocket costs for those times when your smile might need a bit more expensive work. For many people, dental insurance is the best avenue through which they can fit routine dental care into their budget.
Our practice is proud to be your Cigna dentist in Carrollton. We’re here to help you navigate your coverage and use your benefits to your greatest advantage.
Cigna offers a few different plans, and each one offers slightly different coverage. Here is a quick look at how their most robust plan, Cigna Dental 1500, helps policyholders afford different services:
Another popular Cigna plan, Cigna Dental 1000, offers coverage at similar rates. The main difference between the plans is that the 1500 plan has a yearly maximum (the most that Cigna will pay out for treatment within a calendar year) of $1,500. The 1000 plan has a yearly maximum of only $1,000.
The above coverage rates apply only when you visit a dentist who is in-network with Cigna. If you choose to visit an out of network provider, your fees may be significantly more. Fortunately, though, there are over 92,000 thousand dental care providers in Cigna’s network, including us!
When you provide us with your insurance information, we’ll take the time to review your coverage and help you understand how it applies to the treatment you need. We’ll also let you know if the cost of your procedure will exceed your yearly maximum. If it does, we may be able to strategically plan your treatment across multiple appointments in different calendar years, allowing you to take advantage of two yearly maximums.
