Your Initial Consultation
When you arrive for your initial appointment, we’ll go to a private consultation room to review your completed new patient forms, office policies and procedures, and insurance and payment information. You’ll receive a tour to acquaint you with our facility and then settle into a comfortable chair in one of our soothing treatment rooms. We’ll take X-rays, and you’ll meet Dr. Dandois.
Your Comprehensive Exam
Your exam will focus on the key aspects of your smile. Dr. Dandois will check your teeth for decay with a non-invasive DIAGNOdent laser, assess how well your top and bottom teeth fit together, look for signs of gum disease, and perform an oral cancer screening. We’ll use a tiny intraoral camera about the size of a pen to take pictures inside your mouth during your exam.
Treatment Planning
Following your exam, Dr. Dandois will review his findings with you using the digital scanned X-ray images and intraoral photos. You can discuss treatment planning at your first appointment or at a second appointment scheduled at a date and time convenient for you. Dr. Dandois will explain your treatment choices and help you decide which ones meet your needs and fit within your budget and timeline. He’ll also discuss your options if you choose to undergo your dental work with the help of sedation dentistry.
